Renee McCormack brings a broad technical knowledge of skiing to her role as an OutdoorGearLab tester. She's been teaching skiing for the past twelve years, first at Vail, and for the past ten in Mammoth Lakes, California. She is a fully certified PAIA Level III Alpine Instructor and has been coaching her wide range of clients through ski purchases for more than a decade and many shifts in ski construction. Renée has been contributing to the Outdoor Gear Lab Women's All Mountain Ski Review for the past 6 years and has spent more than 4,000 hours skiing these skis in all types of terrain and snow. She has become an expert on comparing the specs, feel, and strengths and weaknesses of skis, and on advising both her personal clientele as well as her review readers on the best pair for them. When she's not skiing (a rarity!), she and her husband teach scuba diving around the world, go rock climbing and mountain biking, and feed their travel bug.
