Our testing crew absolutely loved the weather-resistance capabilities of the Space Acacia Lite. It's made from dense 300-denier fabric that can withstand wind and rain. It also has additional exterior weather-proof panels that can be rolled down and attached over the windows for an extra layer of protection against the elements. During our at-home tests, we doused our Acacia with tons of high-pressure hose water and we liked how it defended our assault. We also tested it against a leaf blower at full throttle and liked how it held up against wind. The manufacturer claims it can withstand 45 mph gusts (we highly suggest staking all guy lines to ensure this claim).
We also loved this tent's infrastructure, particularly its frame. The Acacia is supported by dense fiberglass poles that are tough and dependable. The entire roof and side-panel systems are supported by this solid network of poles. Additionally, each of the Acacia's two massive doors is reinforced by two fiberglass rods on either side. This is an excellent feature that adds to the sturdiness of the entire structure.
Lastly, we really like the pop-up assembly process of the Space Acacia Lite. Yes, we experience a bit of a learning curve, but once we figured it out, the initial setup is quick and easy. However, it's important to keep in mind that the additional process of adding the rain fly, staking the tent into place, and anchoring all of the guy lines does take more time. In total, we feel this tent takes two people about five minutes to completely deploy.
We loved the idea of this tent's removable flooring in theory, but not as much in reality. The advantage of a removable floor is the ability to more easily clean it, especially if you camp with pets. However, even with manufacturer placement markers, we still had a heck of a time evenly re-attaching the floor. There always seemed to be a section that was out of line, bulging, or askew. Additionally, the Velcro can become dirty and less effective over time.
We think the Space Acacia Lite will appeal to die-hard campers who like to enjoy the outdoors in just about every season. Although not completely invincible, this tent is built to withstand the elements better than most of the tents in our lineup. Campers who also like the idea of a pop-up tent will love the ease and convenience of the Acacia's setup process. The only thing to really consider is this tent's packed size and weight. Ideally, it's designed to be set up by two or more people, so if you're stuck with taking on the grunt work solo, you'll need to have the muscle and patience to wrangle this thing until it is upright.
We liked the Gazelle T4 Hub more than the Acacia. In truth, the Gazelle is not as large or weather-resistant as the Acacia, but for the average camper, we found it to be lighter and easier to set up. We also liked the Zempire Evo TM V2 Inflatable Air Tent. It's massive. It also has an entirely different setup process. We also loved the REI Co-op Base Camp 6.
