Our Verdict
Our Analysis and Test Results
The Elevation offers decent compression support and optimal comfort. It is stylish and soft and fits a variety of body types.
Comfort and Fit
The Vuori Elevation offers the highest level of comfort we have had the pleasure of experiencing.
The 86% polyester and 14% elastane blend is made mostly from recycled materials. We are not exaggerating when we say that the Elevation is softer than any sports bra material we have ever laid our hands on. It has a suede-like texture but is much softer. Not only is the Elevation velvety smooth, but it is breathable too. While it is somewhat moisture-wicking, sweat marks are visible when heavy sweat is present, but it dries quickly.
The extreme stretch and softness ensure no pinching or chafing. However, if you size down for extra compression, you may notice a little back spill between the cute crisscross back detail, but this does not affect the comfort. The Vuori Elevation is offered in XXS to XXL. It is mostly true to size, but if you are in between sizes or looking for extra compression, it is best to size down, as the extra stretchy material has a lot of give to it.
Support
The Elevation is an interesting case offering low to medium support in performance stretch knit. The compression-style support is directly affected by the size you choose. Because the material is so soft and stretchy, it may not offer enough support, so sizing down helps mitigate that.
The wide rib band helps to increase hold, and the scoop neck is not so low that you're risking a nipple slip, mid yoga class. While the spaghetti straps and low back are very cute, they do not offer much support, especially for larger-chested folks, so we do not recommend the Elevation for running or other high-impact exercises if you have a larger chest.
Style
The general consensus for the Vuori Elevation is a good one. This sports bra looks great on most bodies with its dainty straps, wide rib band, and low back. While the color options are minimal, most everyone enjoys the heathered look, which is neutral enough to wear with most outfits. The extra stretchy material ensures minimal awkward spilling and zero pinching, making it a good fit for most.
Ease of Care
Not only is the Elevation washer and dryer friendly, but it gets softer with time. This sports bra requires cold water and a low tumble dry, which is easy peasy compared to some of the other options in our test suite. It is not rare for a sports bra to require air drying and bra bags, but the Elevation happily accompanies your socks and cotton t-shirts through each wash and dry cycle. Even after months of heavy use, it shows no signs of wear and tear, again making the Elevation a great option for most people.
Should You Buy the Vuori Long Line Elevation?
Regarding pricing, the Elevation is standard, but its performance in terms of comfort and cuteness is out of this world. With velvety smooth fabric made from recycled materials, this bra doesn't chafe or pinch. The wide rib band, slightly higher scoop neck, and exceptional stretch work together to offer medium support. This sports bra doesn't sacrifice style or comfort and is a great option for yoga, pilates, climbing, or other low-impact exercises at a more-than-fair price.
What Other Sports Bras Should You Consider?
If you are looking for more coverage and support without sacrificing style and comfort, the Girlfriend Collective Topanga is a fantastic option at a lower price point. While advertised as a low-impact sports bra, the high neck and adjustable straps offer plenty of support for various exercises. The Girlfriend Collective Paloma is another crowdpleaser. With its longline fit, this sports bra can easily be worn as a top out to brunch after your productive morning in the gym. Speaking of bra-top combos, the Prana Becksa Bralette is another favorite multipurpose sports bra, although its support is minimal.
