Our Verdict

The Advenor Extra Wide stands out for its exceptional stability and low price, making it a fantastic option for beginners or anyone prioritizing balance when buying a board. Its overall functionality is great, considering its entry-level price point. The features, like three removable fins and a carry case that packs up smoothly, make it a convenient choice, though the included paddle leaves something to be desired. Overall, if you're seeking an affordable, beginner-friendly SUP, this is a solid contender, though speed-focused paddlers may want to look elsewhere. This may be the best deal around for a quality stand up paddle board.

Our Analysis and Test Results

We were first interested in testing this board because of the added accessories it comes with (phone case and leash) as well as its price point. But what made this board an obvious award winner is its stability which absolutely blew us away. This could easily be one of the best beginner/ affordable paddle board on the market right now and is worth checking out.

Stability

Rarely do you get audible responses from not one but multiple paddlers when they try a board out. This SUP elicited a strong response when it came to its stability, every tester could not say enough good things about the Advenor Extra Wide. At 33 inches across, it is not actually wider than most inflatables. But no matter what we did or what conditions we paddled in, this board made it easy to stay on.

Of course, we did the rocking test, where we stood and rocked side to side on the board to see how stable it felt. We put all of our effort into rocking this board as hard as we could and never felt like we were going to come off. Yoga? This is a stellar board for it. Multiple people? No issue. We even went out on a very windy afternoon paddle and had two beginners try this board. They were standing the whole time and felt no concern about falling off. Our more advanced testers had a great time trying all sorts of things to tip over, hopping up and down, rocking back and forth, and even some backflips off of the board. All around, this board received rave reviews for its stability.

Glide Performance

This board scored pretty average for us when it came to its glide performance. The Advenor Extra Wide is no speed demon, but we found it easy to paddle and keep moving. With its longer and wider size than some of the other boards we tested, we felt that it was average with its speed abilities. However, once you stopped paddling, the board did not glide for very long. This was especially noticeable if there was any wind out.

To keep the board moving fairly straight, we had to swap sides we were paddling on about every three to four strokes. On a perfect glass water morning, we were able to get more like five to six strokes in before swapping. Any wind made it hard to keep in line, and we had noticeable fishtailing with the board. We do want to give this board some props, on one of our tests we had apparently swapped the bags when packing the board up so when we took it back out we only had one fin from another board to use on the Advenor. Even with just one fin, the board didn't fishtail and still had decent tracking.

Maneuverability

This SUP delivered a rather middle-of-the-road performance in our maneuverability tests as well. Making a complete 180-degree turn required a few back-and-forth paddles. The board tended to follow the water flow in strong currents, and we found ourselves working a bit harder to steer around obstacles. One upside is that the board's stability allows you to lean into turns to assist with maneuvering.

Overall, this board's handling puts it in the middle of the pack. While it performs decently in most situations, it's not the ideal choice if you're looking for something with quick-turning capabilities, particularly for navigating through tight spots or fast-moving waters. For open water paddling with no obstacles or tight turns, it does just fine. Getting a better-quality paddle for this board could also potentially improve its maneuverability slightly.

Ease of Use

This board is geared towards beginners and is easy to use. It inflates easily, and when you're done, it rolls up and packs back into its carry case with no problem, something we always appreciate. The Advenor Extra Wide has three fins, all removable. The fins were easy to put in and take out and having all of them be removable made rolling the board back up for transport a breeze.

This board is light, at just 18 pounds, making it easy to carry to and from the water, even with it being 11 feet long. The paddle that comes with this board wasn't great; we would likely recommend looking into another paddle with a larger blade. There also are no handles on the tip or tail of this board, which isn't too surprising considering the price point. For some people this is a feature that doesn't make a difference to them. At this price point, we were willing to go without.

Construction Quality

One of the perks of this board is that it comes with all the extra things you could need. It has a waterproof phone case, a leash, and a repair kit, as well as the regular things an inflatable SUP comes with, like a paddle, pump, and carry bag. This phone case was of decent quality. We used it a few times and were pretty certain our phone would be okay if it got wet. The board construction materials are fairly run-of-the-mill, but the board does feel very durable compared to SUPs in a similar price range.

Even at the max PSI, this board still had some flex to it. We took it out once at 13 PSI (max PSI is 15) and wouldn't recommend inflating it anything below the max as it had a lot of give. When it comes to the deck padding, we didn't have any major complaints, but it does start to hurt your feet after standing on it for some time, as it is very textured. A lower profile grip would be excellent but again, for this price point, we were happy enough.

Should You Buy the Advenor Extra Wide?

If your focus is on finding a stable board, this is the best choice you'll find. Looking for a great beginner board at an entry-level price range? This is a solid option. We think that all paddlers, from beginners to advanced, would love this board. If you're a yogi looking for your next SUP, this could also be a great find as it offers a slightly wider deck than some other boards and of course, stability is pretty crucial. There are tons of affordable SUPs on the market but this one is going to be one of the best finds out there.

What Other Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards Should You Consider?

If you're looking for a more advanced level board that moves quicker, look into the NRS X-Lite or a top-level SUP like the Red Paddle Co Voyager+ MSL. The Bote Wulf Aero and the ROC Scout are alternative entry-level boards that we loved. Though the ROC Scout has a MSRP that is nothing special, it is often on sale at a price close to the Advenor.
