Lissette Velasquez

Lissette joined the GearLab team in 2024 as a Review Editor, focusing on all things hiking, camping, and travel. As a former academic scientist, she’s always balanced her love of research with a passion for adventure, exploring everything from Costa Rica’s lush rainforests to South Africa’s iconic crags to Lake Tahoe’s scenic trails. She also enjoys tending her garden, playing with her kids in the snow, and appreciating nature’s small wonders through the lens of her Master’s degree in Microbiology from Yale University.
