Max is an experienced reviewer of camping equipment and men's technical shells, having tested more than 70 sleeping bags, 50 tents, 30 sleeping pads, 25 camping stoves, and 50 technical shells for OutdoorGearLab. Max is well versed in alpine and nordic skiing, mountain biking, sea kayaking, backpacking, rock climbing, and mountaineering. He has traveled to twenty-eight nations including isolated areas in Chilean Patagonia and Eastern Siberia. In a life separate from outdoor gear Max attempts to find innovative solutions to environmental problems. He currently studies at the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment.
