| Bottom Line | A warm-weather sleeping bag at a budget price, but its low insulation and high bulk don't make it very appealing for backpacking | This down bag is an excellent value for anyone who prizes warmth, comfort, and affordability above all else | A roomy synthetic bag that's great for car camping, but too large to reasonably carry on a backpacking trip | An affordable, no-frills bag that's perfect for anyone just starting out, though its packed size limits its appeal for long backpacking trips | A low-cost, warm-weather bag that's fine for warm summer nights, but should not be trusted for anything even close to cold weather |

To give credit where it is due, the MalloMe is an incredibly affordable sleeping bag that's neither enormously bulky nor heavy. It's reasonably comfortable, especially given the price, and can work for a night or two in the backcountry, as long as temperatures are warm enough.
And if you might feel too constrained in a mummy-style bag, you'll certainly appreciate the boxy, rectangular shape. It gives you plenty of room to spread out and roll around, and you can also fully unzip it to use as a two-person blanket.
The ability to convert it from a sleeping bag to a blanket makes it a fairly versatile option, especially when it's warm enough to cover two people in a two-person tent with only a blanket. Plus, it comes with a compression sack, which is more than most ultra-budget-friendly bags can say.
Dislikes
The biggest problem with this bag is that it simply is not warm enough to be labeled a “3-season” sleeping bag. It wasn't independently tested for its temperature rating (according to ISO/EN standards), so you're relying on the manufacturer's own rating. And, frankly, listing it as rated for 32°F to 65°F is false advertising. If you used this bag as your only insulation, you might put yourself at risk if temperatures dropped near freezing.
At 4.2 pounds, it's right up there with some of the heaviest bags we tested, yet it's not nearly as warm as those better-insulated options. It's that heavy despite lacking baffling or high-fill insulation, or other extras like an internal pocket. Put plainly, this is a very basic sleeping bag.
Should You Buy the MalloMe Everyday 3 Season?
The MalloMe Everyday 3 Season sleeping bag should only be considered as a warm-weather sleeping bag, or perhaps an inexpensive blanket. Despite the temperature range it advertises, it will not keep you warm on freezing nights.
What Other Backpacking Sleeping Bags Should You Consider?
The Jeaouia Lightweight Cold Weather is on par with the MalloMe Everyday 3 Season – neither is a reasonable option beyond warm, summer nights. Do yourself the favor of upgrading to the REI Co-op Trailmade 25. It's a truly trail-worthy sleeping bag that will keep you warm and comfortable on cold nights, even when temperatures dip into freezing territory.
