Our Verdict
Few camping pillows are as packable and lightweight as the Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight. Coming in at a modest 2.8 ounces, this model won't slow you down on the trail and inflates incredibly large once you've pitched your tent. There isn't any padding built into the fabric of the Aero Ultralight, though it's an impressive 5 inches thick once set up. While camping pillows in this class often have to strip features to keep the scale numbers low, Sea to Summit still includes a one-way valve to make inflation easy, and it's just as simple to deflate and stow in the included stuff sack. Put the Aeros Ultralight in your cart if you want an easy-carrying pillow for backpacking or travel and don't need as much cushioning.

Comfort
The Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight prioritizes inflation for comfort over padding, making it very comfy for backpacking but less ideal for car camping or van life where weight and packability matter less. It does offer a wide construction that kept our heads supported when rolling over, but it won't feel like your at-home pillow.
The dimensions of the tiny Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight put our jaws on the floor when we first inflated it in testing, coming in at 18 inches by 12 inches wide, and as much as 5 inches thick. Its depth kept all our testers' heads from hitting the sleeping pad, though 5 inches wasn't enough for some of our team's necks when side sleeping, causing them to tilt their heads downward to reach the pillow. The one-way inflation valve made it easy to slowly inflate the pillow to the desired firmness, and it became a go-to when hoofing to a campsite that wasn't right by our cars.

The Aeros Ultralight was soft and inviting on top, with a 100% polyester construction that offered a great against-skin feel. In hotter weather, it didn't cause us to overheat, though it wasn't the easiest to keep clean, with hair and sleeping bag down feathers sticking to it.

Weight
This is one of the lightest pillows in the review's lineup. If you're trying to spare every gram possible, you can even leave behind its stuff sack, but either way, put the aptly named Aeros Ultralight on your finals list if you're carrying your camping gear more than a couple hundred feet to your next campsite.
We measured the Aeros Ultralight at 2.9 ounces in a size large, including its stuff sack. If you want to trim the weight even more, Sea to Summit makes this pillow in a “regular” size and reports a weight of only 2.0 ounces, though it isn't as wide.

Packability
Even in the most stuffed backpack, we could fit the Aeros Ultralight inside. Whether you're enjoying a weekend of backpacking or hoofing across Europe, this is a pillow that'll easily fit in your bag or luggage.
We measured the packed size of the Aeros Ultralight at 4 inches by 3 inches by 2 inches, making it one of the smaller camping pillows we've tested. Considering how large it is once inflated, the “comfort to packed size” ratio is simply staggering.
There are few camping pillows with as small of packed dimensions as the Aeros Ultralight.
Support
When considering how light and packable the Aeros Ultralight is, it's a fairly supportive pillow. This model, in size large, has enough width to cradle your head whether you're sleeping on your side or your back, especially with the raised edges keeping you from sliding off.
As previously shared, this pillow doesn't have any padding, so the support you get from the Aeros Ultralight depends on how inflated it is. If you like a mushier amount of support, simply underinflate the pillow. If you like a firmer feel, inflate the Aeros as much as possible, though bear in mind it can be painful on the ears if sleeping on your side.
Simply inflate or deflate this pillow to dial in how supportive and how cushioned it feels against your ears and head.
Ease of Use
Despite its ultralight build, the Aeros Ultralight is easy to set up or pack away. Without any memory foam or padding, it folds up and stuffs into its storage sack with minimal wrestling, and the one-way inflation valve makes firmness adjustments a breeze.
Sea to Summit's attention to the valve design of the Aeros Ultralight deserves applause, with a reliable inflation valve that doesn't leak air and a second pull tab that lets you deflate it quickly.

The bottom of the Aeros Ultralight is made with 100% nylon, which unfortunately made it prone to sliding on some of the backpack pads we used in testing. However, if you squeeze the Aeros inside a mummy sleeping bag's hood, it's more likely to stay in place all night long.

Should You Buy the Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight?
The Aero Ultralight sets a gold standard for backpackers and minimalist travelers carrying their belongings on their backs. Its inflated size is downright impressive and is simple to set up or pack away. It punches way above its weight class in comfort, but we'd still look elsewhere if you like to camp in or near your car, as there are more comfortable and supportive pillows out there that won't pack down as small.

What Other Camping Pillows Should You Consider?
If you'd like some built-in cushion in your next camping pillow, consider the Nemo Fillo, which has a memory foam top to complement the inflation. It's heavier than the Aeros Ultralight, but it was more comfortable on the ears for side sleepers and still packs down fairly small. Take a look at the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium, which is a sibling to the Aeros Ultralight, and offers very small packed dimensions but includes a cushioned pillow top without adding too much weight.
