Our Verdict
Our Analysis and Test Results
Space and Comfort
Overall, we were blown away by how much space you get in such an easy-to-set-up tent. For a family of four, there is plenty of room to spread out comfortably. It's not the largest floor area in a 6-person tent, but it is close.
With a max center ceiling height of 5' 5", many people will not be able to stand in this tent fully. Many of the higher-end tents offer over 6 feet of center height, and some let you walk around easily from edge to edge.
There is no vestibule, which is another big difference between this and the more expensive tents. You need to account for gear storage in your tent, or store more gear in your car. Or plan to bring a quality canopy tent to cover your stuff. During the day, you can hang out under the canopy, and at night, you can use it as your vestibule.
Another option is to buy a cheap 2-person camping tent specifically for your gear, but that adds extra complexity and setup time.
Weather Resistance
This is not our first choice tent for storms and we would not want to be in this during a heavy rain. We found it did an ok job and protecting us in light rain, but in a full downpour, the rain fly and tent material are not the most robust, especially if there is any wind.
Without a vestibule, when it starts raining, you need to bring everything into your tent or into your vehicle. Another option would be to buy a separate, cheap 2-person camping tent just for your gear.
Ease of Use
We have never seen a tent that sets up or takes down faster. It takes less than 60 seconds to set up the tent and another 30-60 seconds to put the rainfly on.
Take-down is similarly quick and easy. In fact, take down is so easy we spent most of our time just getting the tent in the carry bag. If you just cram this in the carry bag, it will be hard to zip it up. You need to carefully fold the tent and rainfly to make it fit.
Note that straps can get twisted around the poles, putting tension on the tent in weird places, and need to be undone. Stuffing the tent back into its sack will be troublesome for people who are not used to it. Parts get really floofy, making it difficult to manage.
Family Friendliness
This tent is not packed with convenience. It is about as simple as it gets. The pockets are small and there are only two. Wish there were at least 4 and bigger
Another door would be nice. But this was big enough to get in and out comfortably. We love that you can take off the rainfly and stargaze or just get great ventilation.
Quality
Quality is on the lower end. Within a few camping trips, we already had a small hole in the floor. We highly recommend buying an extra heavy-duty tarp and setting this up on top of it.
The zippers are not great. We often get the zipper snagged when opening and closing the door. In addition, the material of the stuff bag and the zipper feel flimsy. You need to take extra care when packing the tent.
The tent stakes are the cheapest and simplest kind. We recommend upgrading to big and beefy tent stakes.
Should You Buy the Fanttik Zeta C6 Pro?
If you are not anticipating high winds or lots of rain, we highly recommend this tent. Aside from being so inexpensive, it is just so fast and easy to set up. That said, it is not the most durable and requires care with the zippers and material if you want it to last for more than a few camping trips. If you are expecting longer periods of rain, we do not recommend this tent.
What Other Camping Tents Should You Consider?
If you want the most space for your money and a big vestibule, check out the Coleman Skydome XL 8. It has more floor space and good coverage for your gear. It also performs much better in rain and wind.
