Our Verdict
The EcocFlow NextGen 220W is the most powerful folding solar panel in our testing lineup. This model is basically the flexible, folding version of the panel you'd attach to your house's roof and will produce similar amounts of power. This panel is spec'd very similarly to most of the 200-watt panels we tested, but it's actually 220 watts. It weighs less than many 200-watt panels we tested, and is easier to carry than those other panels, too. It's waterproof, including the connector cables, and it has sturdy kickstand legs. You fold this up and put it in a carrying case for transport. And while its MSRP is pretty high, we always see it steeply discounted. This model's “street price” is very reasonable, so be sure you don't pay full MSRP for this one.

The NextGen 220W is extremely efficient at turning sunlight into electricity.
During our head-to-head power-efficiency test, the NextGen 220W generated 193 watts over an hour. That's the highest power output in our entire lineup of solar panels.
Technically, this is a 220-watt panel, and the rest of the lineup consists of 200-watt panels. So in some ways, the NextGen 220W should be the most powerful.
But if you look at this panel, it's not any bigger than a 200-watt panel. When opened, it's 85 by 24 inches, which is less surface area than some 200-watt panels. EcoFlow simply crammed more wattage into the same space, and that wattage is working.

The NextGen 220W is also very portable.
It weighs 16.5 pounds with the carrying case. The carrying case helps protect the panel and also makes it easier to lift and carry with the handle. That said, if you lose or forget to use the carrying case, it becomes much harder to lug around, since it doesn't have built-in handles or straps to keep the legs in place.

The NextGen 220W has some of the best-designed kickstand legs. The legs are metal, compared to most other panels, which have canvas legs with a stiff plastic interior. These metal legs are the sturdiest kickstand legs of any folding panel. They're great for uneven surfaces since the metal legs can dig in better and “plant” into the ground, unlike most canvas models.

Dislikes
While we like most things about the NextGen 220W, it doesn't set up as quickly as some models.
While the carrying case is nice for protection, it takes a little longer to remove the panel from the bag when you're setting it up. The foldable options with built-in handles are slightly faster in this area, but we're okay with taking a little extra time to set up for the added charging efficiency.

Should You Buy The EcoFlow NextGen 220W?
The NextGen 220W is a super powerful folding solar panel that's easy to transport. So if you're looking for the most power in a portable package, you should definitely consider this model. And while it looks expensive at first glance, we rarely see any EcoFlow products actually sold for their MSRP. If you're going to buy this panel, make sure you wait until it's discounted.
