We tested the standard silver model, but the manufacturer also offers versions of this spork in purple, green, or blue. The standard titanium model is anodized to give it its color. This electrochemical process forms a colorful oxidized outer layer without any added dyes or chemicals. The color does fade somewhat over an extended period of time, but you don't have to worry about it wearing off into your food.

Our Analysis and Test Results
The balance of utility and familiarity found in the Snow Peak Titanium made it hands-down our favorite spork. It held up to the task and felt natural to use regardless of the culinary circumstance we threw at it. It's easy to forget that this hybrid utensil isn't a piece of your everyday tableware and, after digging into your first meal with this durable, comfortable, and utilitarian tool, it might become just that.
Performance Comparison
Eating
With its thoughtful and comfortable design, using this product does nothing to distract from the food being consumed. It has a natural fit in your hand, and the bowl has the feel of a traditional spoon in your mouth. It's almost indistinguishable from a classic utensil as if it was designed for familiarity and just happens also to be lightweight and have a hybrid spoon-fork on the end.
The titanium construction gives it a pleasant texture and provides a sense of sturdiness. Whether picking up a heavy piece of meat or a scoop of thick breakfast porridge, be confident that the food will make it from plate to mouth without bending or breaking this model.
We used this product to eat all kinds of food all over the world. From street noodles in China to spreading butter on Spanish baguettes in Siurana to alpine mac n' cheese high above Leadville, Colorado, our testers loved eating food with this spork. Providing the luxury of a familiar-feeling utensil in even the most peculiar comestible conditions, this product's performance was unmatched by any of the other competing models.
Durability
This spork wins some serious brownie points for its indestructibility. The Snow Peak held up to dozens of backpacking of trips, months of international travel, and hundreds of workday lunches and doesn't look remotely worse for wear.
We tried to intentionally break it by using a c-clamp to attach it to a table midway up the shaft and hanging a 10-lb weight off the bowl. It didn't even bend.
Cooking
Like traditional silverware, although it is easy to cook with, preparing food was never intended to be its primary function. In a pinch, however, it still works great. Its thin metal design is good for slicing blocks of cheese, and its tines will securely stab even the toughest stick of salami.
Measuring 6.5" from tip to tines, it does, quite literally, come up short when trying to cook in a dehydrated food bag or when using a JetBoil stove. In such cases, expect to get messy when trying to reach all the way to the bottom. Like the rest of the metal sporks, it's a bit rough on a non-stick, but on the flip side, it excels at scraping a cast-iron clean.
Cleaning
When you're on the go, be it on a trail or by plane, options for washing are limited, but the simple topography of this product makes it easy to rinse or wipe clean. The rounded hollow between the tines prevents food from sticking in the gaps, and the smooth handle eliminates the potential for food to linger in crevices.
For a more hands-free approach, the titanium material also makes it safe to come home from work and toss it in the dishwasher.
Value
This product may seem pricey for a piece of cutlery, but if you average out the cost over its years and meals of use, a fraction of a cent will keep you fed and focused on your food.
Conclusion
This spork out forked (and spooned) its competition and was an easy pick for our Editors' Choice award. Although we found some other high performing products amongst the models we tested, its indestructibility combined with its familiarity in hand made it the clear winner of this contest.
