Our Verdict
We love the REI Co-op Swiftland 7/8 for how well they breathe on desert and snowshoe hikes, and because we can wear them comfortably to any yoga class thanks to their surprising stretch. Their outdoorsy vibe makes them great for casual wear in mountain towns and desert rat hangs. The biggest drawback is durability because we noticed the threads loosening after a few months of trail use. We tested more durable alternatives that still give you versatility without a staggering price jump. Competing leggings like the Stio Glide Tech and Janji Trail Tights are more durable for hiking or running. The Swiftland remains an affordable and highly versatile option, especially if you can take advantage of your REI membership discount, but if you want a pair that will last multiple heavy-use seasons, then we recommend the competition.
