Our Analysis and Test Results
In the crowded field of all-mountain snowboards, the YES Standard Uninc stands out for its ability to perform well across various terrain and conditions. The YES offers a balanced approach, making it a reliable choice for riders who want a single board that can do it all. The directional volume twin feels like a twin on groomers but offers the flotation of a directional board while remaining playful and lively flex. This versatility is particularly appealing for those who enjoy switching between carving groomers, hitting jumps, and blasting through powder without changing boards.

Edging
The Yes Standard Uninc is an absolute blast on edge. Yes did a great job making a capable board with a lively and fun feel on edge character. The bamboo, poplar, paulownia core, MidBite, and tight mid-range sidecut help make this board one we would always be excited to hop on.
The Standard Uninc has an energetic, user-friendly core that can leverage power from a turn. The turning experience is plush and energetic, making for spirited groomer riding. The MidBite technology acts as an edge disruption that doesn't feel very catchy and is an essential part of the volume twin shape to add volume and help minimize or eliminate toe drag. Our testers wore up to a size 10 boot on the 156 and were free of that dreaded toe drag. In addition to being wider underfoot, the MidBite improves edge hold. The edge hold provided by the board was a step up from a standard edge, and we found ourselves ripping turns in refrozen morning spring snow with enough grip to put some real heart into our turns.
The mid-range sidecut radius further contributes to the board's ability to handle quick, tight, and medium-radius turns with good control and speed. We found the torsional flex and sidecut easy to skid turns for slashing around your favorite mountain. This particularly benefits riders who enjoy riding on groomers or navigating technical uneven terrain. The board's responsiveness and playfulness make it an excellent choice for those who appreciate precision in their riding, whether carving down steep slopes or weaving through trees.

Float in Powder
Few things are better than effortless float and glide as you make big swooping turns down your favorite run on a powder day. The Yes Uninc provides impressive float to enjoy these fleeting moments to the best of your ability. While it doesn't provide as much float as a powder-specific board or freeride board with lots of taper, the wider profile, slight early rise, Slamback inserts, and more volume in the nose help you get more float out of the board.
Its directional volume twin shape uses a twin sidecut, strategically high volume nose, and reduced volume tail to increase float without requiring a tapered shape. It provides the natural float and lift in powder of a tapered shape without compromising that traditional twin feel on edge. Our test team was thrilled when they found themselves on a powder day on this board, as it just wanted to rise to the top. The degree of float provided by this unique all-mountain shape was thoroughly impressive.

Stability at Speed
The Yes Uninc is a great choice for those riders who love speed. A reliable board underfoot is necessary if your riding style is about traveling fast across various terrain and snow surfaces. This board feels stable underfoot, and we found it to resist chatter in uneven snow to make for a confidence-boosting ride.
The board's Poplar, Bamboo, and Paulownia wood core provides a lightweight yet robust platform, offering a solid foundation. The camber profile of the board further enhances its stability by providing excellent energy transfer, edge hold, and stability. The nimble and semi-damp ride of the board did a great job at absorbing and driving through mildly uneven snow surfaces. When the bumps got bigger, we found the agile nature of the board allowed for smooth and quick navigation between them, which is preferable to trying to blast through on this model. This means that whether you're bombing down groomers or navigating variable snow conditions, the Yes Standard Uninc keeps you grounded and in control. As one of our testers said, “ I felt no instability bombing everywhere around the mountain.”

One of the best features of the Yes Uninc is the balance between a seriously capable board and being fun and playful. The flex pattern, core profile, and twin sidecut help this board stand out and are large components that make any terrain or conditions more fun.
The board's flex rating balances responsiveness and forgiveness, making it suitable for riders who enjoy incorporating freestyle elements into their riding style. The bamboo, paulowina, and poplar core create a fun and enjoyable flex pattern that is easy to create and release energy, especially compared to freeride boards. The flex and core also make this board easy to butter around on. It requires proper technique. You can't just lift your foot like you might be able to with a softer hybrid camber board. After a moderately difficult initiation, the board sits and holds the butter well.

The directional volume twin came from team riders wanting more float in powder without sacrificing a twin board's playful and versatile character. The twin sidecut and nearly centered stance provide a lot of opportunity for a playful riding style around the mountain as you can ride switch, butter, and spin however your heart desires.

Those looking to jump off cliffs, kickers, and side hits will find plenty to love about the Yes Standard Uninc. It can deliver explosive pop and plenty of support for the landings. The board's camber profile and powerful core construction provide the necessary pop for kickers and boosting side hits. The board's twin-like shape ensures generally comparable performance whether you're taking off or landing switch, making it a reliable companion for park sessions and natural terrain features.

Advanced riders will likely get more pop out of this board than other stiffer, freeride boards because of the friendly nature of the flex pattern and core; it happened for most of our expert test team. This makes it a great choice for riders who enjoy mixing freestyle elements into their all-mountain riding, allowing them to push their limits and explore new possibilities on the mountain.
This board was inspired to give team riders a twin-like experience for jumping but the flotation of a directional shape. And it does a darn good job.
