Onetigris Tigerblade Review

Comfort

Compared to other full-sized camping chairs in our review, the Tigerblade doesn't really compare. There are no armrests, no padding in the seat, and the seat features a relatively small measurement of 21 inches, almost half of the larger chairs in our review as comparison. That said, for a chair of this collapsible style, we can appreciate the sturdy frame and high backrest that measures 18 inches from the bottom of the seat, allowing us to kick back in confidence.

The designs forgoes any perforated sections of fabric or breathable mesh in exchange for thick and durable 600D polyester fabric that's lacks some comfort next to skin. To increase breathability, the seat features two slits on the bottom of the chair which does increase airflow on warmer days. Our shorter testers found the 13 inch seat height perfect for crossing or extending their legs, while those taller testers found the design less comfortable for the bend in their knees and the backrest that hit below their shoulder blades. But for those seeking quality and portability, the Tigerblade is an affordable design that's tough to beat.

Portability

While the Tigerblade is heavier and bulkier than other camping chairs of similar style, it remains relatively lightweight and packable, especially when compared to other full size chairs in the lineup. Weighing only 2.9 pounds inside the carry bag that measures 14" long by 5" wide, and 6" inches tall, or relatively the size of an inflatable sleeping pad, this space saving design doesn't need a ton of space for storage.

The carry bag is constructed from the same durable material as the seat, and features two handles on either side for easy transport. The zipper (with pull tab) on the carry bag runs smoothly and the size of the bag makes it easy to stow the chair inside. The chair is so compact you could easily stash it in your rig for use at camp sites, ball games, or picnics, but for those seeking a portable design for backcountry use, there are other options that packs into smaller sizes and boast lighter weights for better efficiency.

Quality

The quality of the Tigerblade is one of the first details we noticed when testing this outstanding collapsible design. Unlike other collapsible chair frames, the Tigerblade design features four sturdy legs complete with extra support between the legs to increase the stability of the 7075 aluminum alloy frame. The extra support snaps into place as you extend the frame and engage the telescoping legs into position. Each leg has rubberized feet with star-shaped positioning that helps prevent the chair from sinking in sand or mud.

The chair features a weight capacity of 330 pounds which we exceeded after placing three humans in the chair at once, without damaging the frame. The 600D polyester fabric is durable as well as resistant to dirt, water, or scratches, although it does sacrifice some breathability and comfort due to its overall thickness. We believe the Tigerblade is one of the most durable and quality collapsible designs, and we love that it's available for an affordable price.

Ease of Use

We had the Tigerblade chair setup in one minute from start to finish. This user-friendly frame is similar to setting up a tent, simply connect the telescoping poles into their extended position, before placing them into the frame and extending the additional frame of stability before locking into position. We love that you don't have to fight the fabric into position, and that the pole pockets are functional without being too bulky. To breakdown simply disengage the button locking the frame into place before breaking down the poles, stowing them inside the fabric, and zipping into the durable carry bag.

The chair does include two pockets, which we found nice for phones and keys, but for beverages or books, we were so close to the ground that it made more sense to just stow them there rather than feel them on our legs while stowed inside the pocket. Those with smaller hand sizes may find it difficult to contain the poles when packing, but Onetigris includes two velcro straps that help contain the poles if needed, this will just take an extra minute or so to wrap around the poles before packing them inside the fabric. Overall, we found the Tigerblade easy to use, even with the added structure that increases the stability and sturdiness of the frame.
