Our Verdict

The Rhone Reign is a premium lifestyle shirt included in our running shirts review that happens to work for exercise. The nylon/polyester/spandex blend has a soft, broken-in feel, and the straddle stitching is genuinely chafe-free. GOLDFUSION anti-odor technology is among the most effective we tested, and UPF 50+ adds outdoor utility. At 5.90 ounces, it is the heaviest shirt in the lineup, and the breathability and drying performance reflect that weight. The no-tumble-dry care requirement is inconvenient for a running shirt. Best for someone who wants one shirt from the gym to dinner.

Few running shirts manage odor as well as the Rhone Reign. The GOLDFUSION anti-odor technology is among the most effective treatments we tested, keeping the shirt fresh over multiple wears, and the regular athletic fit looks polished enough for dinner after the gym. The nylon/polyester/spandex blend has a soft, broken-in feel that sets it apart from the pure polyester shirts in the lineup; the straddle stitching is genuinely chafe-free, and the raglan sleeves move well during activity. UPF 50+ sun protection adds outdoor utility. For runners who prioritize lifestyle crossover and odor management, the Reign offers a combination that few running shirts can match.

Dislikes

At 5.90 ounces, the Reign is one of the heaviest shirts in the lineup, and it shows during running. The nylon content and heavier fabric trap more heat than pure polyester competitors, and breathability scored lowest in the lineup for running use. In our dryer testing, it absorbed more water than any other shirt (3.7 ounces) and took 25 minutes to dry. The care instructions require line drying only, no tumble dryer, which is genuinely inconvenient for a shirt marketed for exercise. At this price, the performance limitations during actual running are hard to overlook.

Should You Buy the Rhone Reign?

If you want a premium shirt for the gym, casual wear, and light activity that looks great and manages odor exceptionally well, the Reign fills that niche. If your primary use is dedicated running, especially in warm conditions, the weight, breathability, and drying limitations point strongly toward lighter, more technical options.

What Other Running Shirts Should You Consider?

The Vuori Strato Tech Tee offers a similar lifestyle crossover with softer fabric and better breathability at a lower price. The Arc'teryx Cormac Crew Neck Shirt delivers premium quality with superior breathability and faster drying. For budget lifestyle crossover, the Under Armour Men's Tech 2.0 covers the basics at a fraction of the cost.
