Our Analysis and Test Results
The UREVO 2 in 1 folding treadmill is a thoughtfully designed compact treadmill for light runners, walkers, or those looking to burn a few calories under their desks. The flat design provides a quiet, low-profile walking surface for those wanting to use it under a desk. With its handrail in the raised position, it works for speed walking or jogging. This versatile machine is lightweight and easy to move and store. Its deck surface is comfortable and compliant but not big enough for serious running. While not ideal for faster runs, we found this machine a pleasure to use and easy to live with.
Performance Comparison
Exercise Quality
Compared to larger treadmills, the UREVO sacrifices exercise quality with its smaller deck and limited speed range. While not ideal for serious running, this machine does a great job for its intended use. It's simple, inexpensive, stores easily, and has a low profile for use under the desk. With the handrail up, the running mode works modestly well for jogging or speedwalking; fast running we don't recommend due to the length of the running surface.
As its name implies, the UREVO can be utilized in two ways; with the handrail down in walk mode or with the handrail raised in run mode. In walk mode, the treadmill is flat, and its speed settings range from 0.6 to 3.8 mph, making it ideal for use under a desk. In run mode, with its handrail raised, its speed settings range from 3.8 to 7.6mph. At a light jog, the treadmill felt great; as our speed increased, however, it became a bit more uncomfortable. At running speeds above 6.5 mph, our stride started to stretch close to the edges of the 42.5" running surface. We never felt like the deck was too narrow at 16.75", but running on this machine requires a bit of focus.
There are no workout programs or connected features on the UREVO so there isn't much to interact with. The front of the deck features an LCD showing speed, elapsed time, distance, and an estimate of calories burned. With the handrail down, power and speed adjustments are made through the remote control. The remote control uses IR, so it must be pointed toward the treadmill and doesn't work when placed on top of your desk or work surface.
Companion App/Connectivity
There is no Bluetooth connectivity or real reason for it on this simple treadmill. With the handrail up, there is a 192mm shelf notch to rest your phone; it's not quite big enough for an iPad mini, but every phone we tried fits.
User Interface/Ease of Use
While the UREVO is pleasantly easy to use, it loses some points in this metric due to its simple display and controls. The small display at the front of the treadmill is large enough to read from above and shows you relevant info in real-time. The remote fits into a slot in the base when not in use, although it does not charge while docked.
Starting a walk with the UREVO is quick and simple. To turn it on, simply press the power button on the remote and the belt will start moving. A simple plus or minus on the remote controls your speed. No programs, no apps, and nothing to fuss with, it's refreshingly simple.
To start a run, fold the handrail to the upright position and use the power button located on the handrail. There are plus / minus buttons on the handrail and, in addition, two buttons marked 3 and 6 that set the treadmill at those respective speeds. The remote control does not operate above 3.8 mph.
Features
Foldability and ease of storage are the main features of the UREVO treadmill. The bottom of the treadmill has wheels on one end, so it can easily be tilted and wheeled into place. There is also a small port on the side rail for oiling the tread belt; this is something that we wish were on more treadmills, as lubricating treadmill belts is often arduous. The unit has an impressive for its size, 265 lb weight limit.
The folding handrail makes this model impressively small and easy to store when not in use. It easily fits under a bed or couch or can be propped up lengthwise inside a closet. We would have liked the phone holder to be large enough for a tablet, but overall, we're impressed with the features of this unit.
Ease of Assembly
It's hard to imagine the setup of this unit being any easier; it really involves just pulling it out of the box and plugging it in. Once you open it, a couple of minutes of removing the packaging and unraveling the cord make it ready to operate. We had ours operating less than 10 minutes after it was delivered.
Although it's a fairly lightweight treadmill, the box is still heavy and unruly. Our box weighed 67 lbs and wasn't exactly easy to move. The setup was significantly easier than other treadmills we've tested.
Storability
One of our favorite features of the UREVO is its ease of storage. This model's thin profile and collpasible handle make it a compelling option for those tight on space.
Even with its handle up in run mode, the machine has a small foot print and easily fits in places where most treadmills could not. It measures 54.5" L x 26" W and only 4.9" high. With the handrail up its length decreases by 2" and it tops out at 41" tall. Its ultra thin profile make it possible to hide under a couch or bed, or lean behind a door for storage.
There are wheels on the front of the treadmill that make rolling it possible but they're not always necessary as the machine only weighs 58.4lbs.
Noise Level
The UREVO doesn't make much noise; it's quieter than most other treadmills we've tested. Noise may be an important consideration for those wanting to use it beneath the desk discreetly. At 1 mph, the machine generates 44 dB without a user and 49 dB when walking on it. At 4.5 mph, the treadmill generates 57 dB and 61 dB with a jogger. At 7.5 mph, we measured 64 dB and 67 dB while running on its surface.
Should You Buy the UREVO 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill?
If you're in search of a treadmill that won't destroy your usable space or break the bank, then the UREVO is worthy of your consideration. This treadmill isn't up for serious training, nor is every treadmill consumer. This unit is great for walking and light running. If you'd like a machine that prioritizes convenience and storage over outright performance, this 2 in 1 treadmill is hard to beat. Its low cost and ease of use are highlights. With an incredibly thin profile, this treadmill works remarkably well under a standing desk.
What Other Treadmills Should You Consider?
If you need a treadmill for higher-intensity workouts, the Echelon Stride is a good choice. It has a much larger running surface and app connectivity and is better suited for serious training. It also features a fold-down handrail, and while not as thin as the UREVO, it can be stored under most beds or couches. Like many other connected fitness machines with app connectivity, they come with a monthly fee. If you want to spend a little less and don't mind sacrificing a bit of belt length, check out the Goplus SuperFit 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill.
